These terms govern your use of the Autofax website. By using the site, you accept them. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.
About the service
Autofax publishes information about vehicles sold at US auctions: photos, damage descriptions, mileage, specifications, and sale date and price. You can find a vehicle by its VIN. The site is free to use and does not require registration. Autofax is not an auction, dealer or broker. We do not sell vehicles, take part in deals between buyers and sellers, or act on behalf of either party.
Vehicle information
Information on the site is provided “as is”. It is based on auction and partner data, and we do not inspect each vehicle in person. As a result: • the information may be incomplete, out of date or contain errors; • photos and descriptions show the vehicle as it was at the time of the auction, and its condition may have changed since, for example after repairs; • if the site has no record of a vehicle or does not mention certain damage, this does not mean the vehicle has no history. The information on the site is not an expert report, a valuation or a guarantee of a vehicle's history. Before buying, always inspect the vehicle yourself, check its documents and, where possible, have it examined by a qualified specialist.
Vehicle photos and data
Photos and data on the site come from auction listings or are provided by partners. We publish them so that buyers can judge the condition of a vehicle. If you believe a photo or record infringes your rights, let us know through the Contact page and we will review it.
Partner-submitted records
Some records are added by our partners. Partners are responsible for the accuracy of the data they submit and for having the right to publish it. We may review, edit, hide or delete any partner record at our discretion, but we do not guarantee that every record is accurate or complete.
Record removal requests
If you own a vehicle that has a record on the site, you can ask for the record to be removed using the removal request form. The process is as follows: • We contact you by email to confirm that you own the vehicle, and we may ask for documents proving ownership. • Removal may be subject to a fee. Any fee is agreed with you in advance by email, and nothing is charged without your consent. • Once ownership is confirmed and the terms are agreed, we hide or delete the record and block the VIN so that the record is not published on the site again. We reply to requests by email, usually within 1–2 business days. We may refuse a request if ownership cannot be confirmed or the request is made in bad faith. Removal applies only to this site: we cannot remove information published by auctions or other websites.
Acceptable use
When using the site, you must not: • scrape, copy or download records in bulk, or access the site with bots, scripts or other automated tools (search engines indexing public pages are an exception); • send spam, false or abusive requests through the forms, or submit requests in someone else's name; • try to bypass the anti-bot check, request limits or other protections, or gain access to the admin panel or other restricted areas; • disrupt the site, overload it or try to break into it; • use the site for any unlawful purpose. We may restrict or block access for anyone who breaks these rules.
Intellectual property
The design, text, software and structure of the site, the Autofax name, and the selection and presentation of records belong to Autofax or are used with the permission of their owners. Auction photos and data remain the property of their respective owners. You may view the site and share links to individual records for personal, non-commercial purposes, for example when discussing a purchase. You may not copy, republish or commercially use content from the site without our written permission.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law: • the site and the information on it are provided without warranties of any kind, including warranties of accuracy, completeness or fitness for a particular purpose; • we are not liable for any loss arising from use of the site or from reliance on its information, including decisions to buy, sell or value a vehicle; • we are not liable for interruptions, errors or temporary unavailability of the site. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms from time to time. The current version is always published on this page, and the date of the last update is shown at the top. By continuing to use the site after changes are published, you accept the updated terms.
